Serial Social Tracker lets you choose a downloaded social media data export, such as an Instagram or Facebook ZIP file, and turn it into a readable dashboard.
The current dashboards are designed to read supported export files locally in your browser. This means the file is opened by JavaScript running on your device, not uploaded to our server for processing.
The current browser-based dashboards are designed so that your downloaded export file stays on your device.
When you refresh the page, close the tab, or leave the dashboard, the results shown on the page disappear unless you choose to download a local results file yourself.
Like most websites, your browser may send basic technical information when you visit the site. This can include information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring page, and approximate time of visit.
This type of information is different from the contents of your social media export ZIP file. The current dashboard design does not need to upload your ZIP file or parsed results to the server.
Serial Social Tracker may use basic analytics to understand how many people visit the site, which pages are used, and whether the site is working properly.
Analytics has not been designed to replace the local-processing privacy model. If analytics are added or changed in the future, they should remain separate from your export-file contents and dashboard results.
This site may load common front-end libraries from third-party content delivery networks, such as Bootstrap, Bootstrap Icons, JSZip, or similar browser libraries. These services may receive standard browser request information when those files are loaded.
The site may also include links to external websites or social media pages. If you click those links, the destination website will have its own privacy practices.
Social media data exports can contain sensitive information. Even though this site is designed to process supported ZIP files locally in your browser, you should still be careful with your downloaded export files.
Serial Social Tracker may add new dashboards, pages, analytics, or platform-support features over time. If the site changes how data is processed, this privacy page should be updated to explain those changes.
